ChessCubs is a US-based online chess academy for kids ages 5–15. One hundred units, seven levels, and a simple promise: real coaches, a real curriculum, and progress you can see.
I've been teaching children chess for more than fifteen years — over a thousand students before ChessCubs ever had a name. There was no brand, no ads, barely an internet presence. There didn't need to be: parents told other parents. That's still how most families find us.
ChessCubs is that same teaching, finally written down — a hundred units, built one idea at a time, the way children actually learn. My students say it best: “Vishnu sir explains concepts that are very hard in a simple, easy manner.” You'll hear that in their own voices on our Success Stories page.
“A hard problem isn't scary — it's an adventure.” That belief is built into every ChessCubs class.
— Vishnu Prasad, Founder
We want every child to discover that a hard problem isn't scary — it's an adventure. Chess is our vehicle; confident, thoughtful kids are our goal.
Our curriculum isn't a playlist of puzzles — it's a map. Every unit teaches exactly one new idea until your child truly owns it.
No firehose. A child who masters the fork this week isn't rushed into the pin before it sticks.
Children advance when a scored checklist says they're ready — repeat-and-advance is normal and celebrated.
Every week's homework deliberately reaches back to earlier units, so nothing learned is ever lost.
Scores are never read aloud, ladders are never public. Your child competes against their own last best — and wins.
Every level ends with a ceremony and skills your child can demonstrate on a real board.
Every ChessCubs coach is FIDE-rated, screened AND background-verified, then certified level by level inside our own academy — a strong chess mind still has to pass the childcraft exam before meeting your child.
Coaches teach. Tools help. Between lessons, Cubby — the friendly practice buddy — serves puzzles that adapt to your child, and parents get progress updates on WhatsApp.
Peace of mind, in your pocket. No open chat with strangers, ever.
No credit card. No pressure. Includes your child's placement on our seven-level map and a written report.
